Panalure

Panalure combines thoughtfully crafted storytelling with an eclectic range of folk, rock, country and even some jazz influences. If you’re looking for a label, call it “Americana.”

Players

Every Wednesday night for the past 14 years the members of Panalure have gone up the stairs to Ken’s attic to work on original songs. Led by primary songwriter and singer Fred Ziegler, the band has crafted four albums worth of edgy, smart and hopefully listenable new songs.

Original members Michael De Boer on guitars (way too many of them) and Ken Hanson on bass contribute ideas and arrangements, while Kari Hoff provides backing vocals. In the past few years the band has added some serious bench strength to the lineup with Bob Jennings (SemiTwang, R&B Cadets and Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound) on keyboards, Susan Nicholson (Frogwater) on violin and mandolin, and groove master Bob Schneider (SemiTwang, Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound and R&B Cadets) on the drums.

Together the band delivers a mix of songs that will both engage your brain and get your feet to moving.

Kodak Panalure is a panchromatic black-and-white photographic printing paper. Panalure was developed to facilitate the printing of full-tone black-and-white images from colour negatives – a difficult task with conventional orthochromatic papers due to the orange tint of the film base. Panalure also finds application as paper negatives in large format cameras. It is generally not suitable for conventional black-and-white printing, since it must be handled and developed in near-complete darkness.
